The freshly leaked information seems to be a result of a mistake committed by an individual who happens to be a former employee of Virtuous. The former employee seems to have confirmed the game and also given one some idea about the kind of changes that will be made to it. Not too long ago, Microsoft got engaged in an elaborate fight with the Federal Trade Commission over their acquisition of Activision Blizzard. As per the unredacted documents, Bethesda had plans to roll out a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3 in 2022 and 2024 respectively.

This individual, who had worked on titles like Epic Mickey: Rebrushed and Call of Duty: Warzone in the past, stated that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is being “fully remade” with the help of Unreal Engine 5. As per the description, several gameplay systems, like sneaking, stamina, blocking archery and hit reaction, have gone through an overhaul.

While getting blocking reworked, Virtuous had drawn some inspiration from Soulslike games. This was primarily done as the system used in the past was said to be ‘frustrating’ and ‘boring’. Some alterations have been made to the stamina system to bring down the level of frustration experienced by players. The knockdown mechanic, too, has been tweaked and now, it will be activated much less frequently.

To help stealthy players, sneak icons have been introduced in the game. This is one of those features that was not a part of the original game. Players will also see the effect of some modifications made to damage calculations. The reworking of archery will enable players to play in first and third-person view.
