Verizon has released a new software update for Galaxy S20 5G that brings the Android security patch level to September 2021. As detailed by Samsung, the new security patch fixes over 50 vulnerabilities related to system security and privacy. It is a minor security update, and does not bring anything like new features, performance improvements, or UI changes. The new OTA update is rolling out as system update number 17 for the Verizon-bound Galaxy S20 5G.
Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, S21+ 5G, and S21 Ultra 5G
Samsung Galaxy S21 series is receiving system update 9 from Verizon that mainly brings the September 2021 security patch. According to the changelog, it also brings several performance improvements to the devices. Samsung has also started rolling out the October 2021 security patch, which debuted on the international variant of the Galaxy S21 series. Hopefully, Verizon will soon bring this to its carrier models as well.
