Verizon has released a new software update to the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Note 20 5G, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy A12, Galaxy S10 5G, Moto G Stylus that brings the newest security patch. some Galaxy phones are also getting performance improvements. The update for Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic adds new options to Settings and Quick Panel. Read more about new changes in their respective section.
Galaxy S20 5G, S20+ 5G, and S20 Ultra 5G
Verizon-bouned Galaxy S20 5G, S20+ 5G, and S20 Ultra 5G are receiving a new software update that brings the August 2021 security patch. The smartphones are also getting performance improvements that should result in a better user experience. The new update is rolling out as the 16th system update for Galaxy S20 5G, while Galaxy S20+ 5G and S20 Ultra 5G are receiving their 19th system update.
Galaxy S21 5G, S21+ 5G, and S21 Ultra 5G
System update number 8 is now rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, Galaxy S21+ 5G, and Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. It brings the August 2021 security patch and several performance improvements. It is a minor security patch update. So, don’t expect to see any new features or visual changes.
Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G
Like the Galaxy S20 and S21 series, Verizon-bound Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G are also receiving August 2021 security patch with the new update. Additionally, the new OTA update also brings several performance improvements. It comes as system update number 14 for the Galaxy Note 20 5G and Note 20 Ultra 5G.
Galaxy A12 and Galaxy S10 5G
Samsung Galaxy A12 and Galaxy S10 5G on Verizon’s network are receiving August 2021 security update. Additionally, the update for Galaxy A12 brings improved camera performance. It is rolling out as system update 28 for the Galaxy S10 5G, while the Galaxy A12 is receiving its 3rd system update.
Motorola Moto G Stylus
August 2021 security update is now rolling out to Verizon’s Moto G Stylus. The changelog does not mention anything apart from a new security patch. The new security patch fixes a bunch of system security and privacy-related issues. It is rolling out as system update 10 for the Moto G Stylus.
Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic
Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic are the company’s latest smartwatches which were announced earlier this month. The devices are now receiving their first software update from Verizon which brings notable changes in the Settings and Quick Panel. According to the changelog, the Samsung Health feature has been added to the Settings menu. It adds an “X” button has been added to dismiss the “switch to manual mode” message when a workout is automatically detected.
The software update calorie measurements accuracy for cycling exercises. Quick Panel gets volume adjustment option. To enable it, open Quick Panel, tap on the ‘+’ button, and select Volume. The software update is rolling out to both the dial variants of Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic.
