Verizon is sending new security updates to Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy Z Flip3, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy J3 (2018), and Galaxy J3 V (2018).
The new software update for Galaxy Note 9 brings August 2021 security patch, while the Galaxy J3 (2018), Galaxy J3 V (2018), and newly-launched Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, Galaxy Z Flip3 5G are receiving a month older July 2021 security patch. Read more about the new update in their respective section.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G
The Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 are the company’s latest phones which were launched this week. While being the latest phones, the duo does not come with the latest security patch. Now, Verizon has released the first software update which brings the July 2021 security patch to these foldable phones. It also brings several system enhancements to the devices.
Notably, Samsung has already started rolling out August 2021 security patch which now reached a bunch of Galaxy phones. So, giving a month older security patch to the latest phones is not something the user wants. Hopefully, Samsung will soon release the latest security updates to Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Verizon-bound Galaxy Note 9 is receiving system update 33 which brings the August 2021 security patch. As mentioned in Samsung’s documentation, the newest security patch fixes 40 vulnerabilities related to system security and privacy. It is a minor security patch update and does not bring any new features, or performance improvements.
Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) and Galaxy J3 V (2018)
Third Generation Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J3 V are receiving a new software update from Verizon. It brings the latest security patch released in July 2021. As per the changelog, the phones are also getting several performance improvements with the new update.
