Verizon is sending a new software update to Google Pixel 3, 3 XL, 3a, 3a XL, Pixel 4, 4 XL, 4a, 4a 5G UW, and Pixel 5.
All the Google Pixel smartphones in this article are receiving June 2021 security patches, new features, and several improvements with the latest update.
Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL
Verizon has released a new software update for Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL. This is system update number 33 for Pixel 3 and 3 XL, while the Pixel 3a and 3a XL are receiving their 26th system update. The new update brings June 2021 security patch and improvements to many areas including performance, stability, and battery.
In addition to a new security patch and improvements, the company has added several new features including the “Locked Folder” feature to keep your photos and videos private, “Heads Up” feature in Digital Wellbeing to alert pedestrians when they are looking at their phone’s screen while walking. The recorder can now transcribe in multiple English locales in Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, and Singapore. The car detection is now supported in Spain, Ireland, Singapore, and Call Screen feature made available in Japan. That’s not it as the update brings Pride-themed wallpapers, ringtones, and notifications.
Google Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, and Pixel 4a 5G UW
Verizon is sending the 20th system update to Pixel 4 and 4 XL, while Pixel 4a is receiving its 10th system update, and Pixel 4a 5G UW is receiving the 7th system update. Regardless of the system update number, the update for all Pixel 4 series phones brings the same set of new changes. It brings all the new features, improvements, and June security patches that we discussed above for the Pixel 3 series. Additionally, the Pixel 4 series is getting several new features such as Astrophotography Time-lapse camera mode, Clipboard chips in Gboard, and the Assistant gets Call Actions feature which can answer an incoming call by invoking assistant.
Google Pixel 5
Google Pixel 5 is receiving system update number 8 from Verizon. It brings June 2021 security patches, and improvements across many areas including performance, stability, ad battery. In addition to this, the update adds all the new features that are also given to Pixel 4 series phones (detailed above).
