The Vivo Y53s 5G has been silently launched in China as a new 5G-enabled mid-range phone.

With a starting price of 1,779 CNY, the Y53s offers some exciting features such as a high refresh rate display, 64-megapixel dual rear cameras, and a large-sized battery. The name of the phone suggests that it has arrived to replace the Vivo Y52s that was announced in China in December 2020.

Specifications and Features

The Vivo Y53s bearing model number Vivo V2111A measures 163.95 x 75.3 x 8.5mm and weighs 189 grams. The handset houses a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel that offers Full HD+ resolution and a high refresh rate of 90Hz. On top of that, it has an 8-megapixel camera housed inside the waterdrop notch.

The polycarbonate rear of the Y53s 5G has a dual-camera unit that has a 64-megapixel main camera and a macro lens with supports a 4cm focal length. A fingerprint can be found embedded in the power button on the right side of the phone.

The company has settled for the Snapdragon 480 to power the Vivo Y53s. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM, and it offers up to 256GB of native storage. It is unclear whether the phone features a microSD card slot.

It has a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support to keep the lights on. It promises up to 140 hours of music playback and up to 25 hours of video playback on a full charge. Lastly, it runs on OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11 OS.

For those who are interested, the Vivo Y53s 5G comes with a price tag of 1,799 CNY for its base model that has 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The higher 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced at 1,999 CNY. The handset is now available for pre-orders and its first sale will commence on June 11.
