Google Pixel 3 series, Pixel 4 series, and Pixel 5 are receiving a new software update from Verizon that brings September 2021 security patch.
Samsung was the first to roll out September 2021 security patch, and now Google Pixel phones have started sending the newest security update. Check out the respective section to have a detailed look at what the new update brings.
Google Pixel 3 series
Verizon-bound Google Pixel 3 series phones have started receiving the September 2021 security patch. It is a minor security patch update and does not bring any performance improvements, new features, or changes to the user interface. The new update is rolling out as the 36th system update for Pixel 3 and 3 XL, while the Pixel 3a and 3a XL are receiving the 29th system update.
Google Pixel 4 series
Google Pixel 4 series consists of – Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, and Pixel 4a 5G. All the phones are now receiving the September 2021 security patch to protect them from different kinds of system security and privacy-related vulnerabilities. According to the changelog, the update does not bring anything other than just a new security patch. It comes as system update number 23 for the Pixel 4 and 4 XL. Pixel 4a is receiving it as the 13th system update, while Pixel 5 is receiving system update number 11.
Google Pixel 5
System update number 11 is rolling out to Google Pixel 5 on Verizon’s network. It brings the latest security patch released in September 2021. The new security patch should fix a bunch of system security and privacy-related vulnerabilities.
