iQOO 8 Pro (I2017) Indian Variant Spotted with Snapdragon 888 Plus at Geekbench

The iQOO 8 Pro with I2017 model number has appeared at the Geekbench benchmarking site.

The Chinese manufacturer announced the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro flagship phones last month in China. Reports have revealed that the I2017 is the Indian variant of the iQOO 8 Pro. Its appearance at the benchmarking site reveals that the company could be internally testing the device. This indicates that the company soon announce the iQOO 8 series in India.

The iQOO 8 Pro has appeared with “Vivo I2017” label on the benchmarking site. The listing reveals that it is powered by a Qualcomm chipset that is codenamed as ‘lahaina.’ The listing further reveals that the chipset includes four CPU cores clocking at 1.80GHz, three CPU cores ticking at 2.42GHz, and a prime CPU core working at 3.00GHz.

These specs reveal that the iQOO 8 Pro’s Indian variant will feature the Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC like its Chinese edition. The handset was also spotted at SD888+ chip at the Google Play Console last month. Coming back to the Geekbench listing, the handset is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and Android 11 OS. It scored 1098 in the single-core test and 3594 in the multi-core test of Geekbench.

The iQOO 8 Pro has a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED QHD+ display, SD888+ chip, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, Android 11 OS, and a 4,500mAH battery that supports 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It has a front camera of 16MP and a 50MP (main) + 16MP (telephoto) + 48MP (ultrawide) triple camera unit.

Recently, a tipster from India claimed that the iQOO 8 series will be launching in India this month. Probably, it may go official in the fourth or fifth week of the month.

Note: This phone was spotted as iQOO 7 Pro in the IMEI database. So, it remains to be seen whether it debuts as iQOO 8 Pro or iQOO 7 Pro in India.
