Verizon Pixel Phones Get Android 10 Update; LG G8 ThinQ, LG Stylo 5, Nokia 2V, Moto e4 Gold/Prepaid Get Software Updates

Verizon has picked a range of devices for firmware updates. The entire Google Pixel family gets the latest Android 10 update.

These include a couple of devices from Motorola and LG, one Nokia and a range of LG phones as well. While the latest Android security patches are being sent to these Verizon administered phones, the Google Pixel devices are being upgraded to the Android 10 OS. Here’s a brief sketch on what’s changing in these models.

Motorola Moto E4 Gold & E4 Prepaid

This 5^th system update from Verizon gives the Moto E4 Gold includes the September patch of the latest Android security update. The over the air update file will automatically get downloaded on your devices and installed. Ensure that your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi source and there is sufficient battery charge in it.

For the Moto E4 Prepaid, this is the 13^th system update from Verizon which brings the September Android security patch.

LG Stylo 5 & LG G8 ThinQ

The LG Stylo 5 smartphone is a 2019 release and this is the first system update the device is getting from Verizon. The latest security update patch for September as released by Android is the only content in this update file.

The LG G8 ThinQ smartphone from LG gets its system update No. 3 and apart from the September Android security update patch there are also certain app enhancement of pre-loaded apps in this update.

Nokia 2V

Verizon’s system update No. 6 for the Nokia 2V consists of only the security update patch from Android for the month of October. There is no other change being brought about in this device.

Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 & Pixel 2XL

This first set of Google Pixel smartphones, Pixel and Pixel XL are being sent their system update No.37 by Verizon and the latest October security patch from Android. In the case of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Verizon is sending its system update No. 24. These two are also getting the latest October patch of the Android security update along with Android 10 OS upgrade.

Google Pixel 3, 3 XL, Pixel 3a & 3a XL

All four Google Pixel devices released last year are getting the Android 10 update alongside October security patches from Verizon. This is the 13^th update for the Pixel 3 and 3 XL and 6^th for the Pixel 3a and 3a XL.
