Google’s Pixel and the Pixel XL will be brought to users from Verizon Wireless, according to a page seen in Gizmodo.
Verizon Wireless is one of the top US mobile carriers and it will sell the Pixel and the Pixel XL. However, the news has not been confirmed directly by Verizon.
Verizon Site
The news comes from a site owned by Verizon, so there is not much to doubt or dispute it. The earlier phones released by Google, namely, the 6P and the top US mobile carriers did not carry the 5X. Consumers interested in buying the phone had to purchase it unlocked or could buy it through the Project Fi, which is a Google financed project. Prior to these phones, the Nexus 6 could be purchased from all the four major carriers.
You can find the Pixel and the Pixel XL on Verizon and there is no evidence of the rivals, namely, AT&T and Sprint as well as T Mobile offering the same phones.
Google Event
Fans will know more about where they can purchase the new Pixel phones at the media event to be held today. Some trademarks have been uncovered confirming the branding of Pixel and they might very well be the first party case of these phones.
More Excitement in Blue
There is something more to get excited about the Pixel phones. They are both coming blue color. There are postings of the Verizon product that have been posted by @evleaks. The Pixel XL is on the top and the Pixel at the bottom. The same white and silver combo is seen as was present in several earlier leaks. However, there is one new blue version coming with white face plate.
Verizon site has also given a tip to Gizmodo confirming that the two phones will come in several configurations of black, white and silver and also blue. The storage will be either 32 GB or a higher 128 GB. However, there is no carrier brand present on the image.
Pixel Event – Heads Up
The time to show off has come for Google. The event will be held on 4th of October, today, at San Francisco. Here’s a heads up about the rumors regarding what the company will probably announce. There will probably be a lot of announcements to do with hardware. You might hear about the new phones, the date of release, the pricing for Google’s answer to Amazon’s Echo and much more. There might be an announcement of the new Chromecast as well as a new router possibly. Google has also brought in a new Assistant, debuting with Allo, the messaging application.
Star of the Show
However, the star of the show will naturally be the Pixel and the Pixel XL mobile phones. There have been plenty of leaks during the last few months, so there may not be many surprises on this end. The Pixel phones will replace the Nexus phones and will come with Google brand without any manufacturer tags. However, there is the agreement that HTC will be building these phones behind the scene.
