After long periods of rumors and speculations, it appears that Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 and the Moto G5 Plus are all set to make their debut in the U.S.
Both Samsung and Lenovo have been busy lately, especially now that the Mobile World Congress 2017 is just around the corner and the two will be attending. Each company is expected to unveil a bunch of devices at the event, among them Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 and Moto G5 Plus. Apparently, these two will be coming to the U.S. via the biggest carrier in the country – Verizon Wireless.
We have seen benchmarks and various certifications of Samsung Galaxy J7 2017, but it is only now that clear details about the phone’s availability in the U.S. are appearing. Leaked by famous tipster Evan Blass, the images actually confirm the previously touted premium design of the Galaxy J7 2017 as well as Galaxy J5 2017, although the latter has not featured so far.
Apparently, Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 will be coming to Verizon Wireless as the Galaxy J7 V. Blass adds that the same phone will also be sold by Tracfone, but it will be known as Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro. While there should be other carriers bringing the Galaxy J7 2017 to the U.S., the list is still unclear.

If you are not into Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 or Samsung in general, Verizon will also be unveiling the Moto G5 Plus. While the exact date is not yet known, the leaked images, which are also courtesy of Blass, show a somehow awkward choice of design by Lenovo. Unlike the Galaxy J7 V which has tried to maintain thin bezels on the sides, the Moto G5 Plus has really large bezels, but from the look of things, the camera seems a lot bigger and hopefully better.
Where Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 has three physical buttons – Recents, Home (Fingerprint scanner) and Back – the Moto G5 Plus has a single physical button on which the fingerprint scanner should be mounted. As for the Recents and Back buttons, they are on-screen. It appears that Samsung’s device has no hump on the back for the camera, something Motorola couldn’t get rid of, but it’s not that big!
Even though there are no specs yet, previous rumors have claimed that Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 will ship with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with HD resolution. There’s talk of a Snapdragon 625 processor and 2GB RAM running the show alongside 16GB storage and Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Samsung is also expected to step up the camera specs, but no details are available just yet.

As for the Moto G5 Plus, it is rumored that the phone will ship with a smaller 5.2-inch Full HD screen, which is not just smaller than the Galaxy J7 2017, but also smaller than last year’s Moto G4 Plus. Under the hood, there’s a different processor but the same RAM as its Samsung counterpart – a Snapdragon 430 SoC. The storage will reportedly be upped to 64GB and software-wise, Android 7.0 Nougat will power the phone out of the box.
There have been rumors claiming that the Moto G5 Plus will come with the best in class Sony 12MP camera that matches what you find on the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom and Vivo X6 Plus, something that could be its major selling point given this, well, horrible-looking design.
Since these are unofficial leaks, there is still no word on when Verizon Wireless or Tracfone will start selling Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 and the Moto G5 Plus. But since both are expected to appear over the weekend, we should know their availability details in the new few days, if not weeks.
