Vivo V2102A has bagged MIIT certification. It could launch as the company’s first phone with Snapdragon 898 SoC.
Xiaomi phone code-named “psyche” has also received MIIT approval.
A new Vivo phone identified by the model number V2102A has received approval from China’s MIIT authority. It could be the Vivo’s first phone with Snapdragon 898 SoC flagship chipset. Xiaomi has also obtained MIIT certification for the Xiaomi 2112123AC. The phone is said to be powered by Snapdragon 870 chipset.

Vivo V2102A
The marketing name of Vivo V2102A is currently a mystery, but not the specifications. It was recently spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench, which revealed that the Vivo V2102A is powered by the unannounced Snapdragon 898 chipset. The device has an 8GB RAM variant and boots Android 12 out of the box.
Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 898 chipset in December. The new flagship chipset is reportedly fabricated on a 4nm manufacturing process. It is an octa-core processor which is said to have 1×2.42GHz cores+ 3×2.17GHz cores + 1.79GHz core. The Geekbench listing for V2102A revealed that the new Qualcomm chipset has Adreno 730 for graphics-related work.
New flagship chipsets from Qualcomm mostly debut in a Xiaomi phone. But this time, Vivo might be the first one to launch a phone with Snapdragon 898 SoC. Qualcomm is likely to announce the new flagship chip during the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2021 which is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 2, 2021.

Xiaomi 2112123AC
Xiaomi 21123AC’s MIIT certification reveals that the phone supports 5G connectivity. Reliable Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the device is code-named “psyche”. He also claims that the new Xiaomi phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. The phone is tipped to have a high refresh rate, fast charging, and a high-resolution main camera.
The marketing name of the phone is yet to be revealed by any of the certifications. There’s not much known about the phone yet; however, we can expect more details to surface online as we get close to the launch.
