Xiaomi Mi 5S Pictures Leaked; Dual Camera Set-up Confirmed

Xiaomi Mi 5s

Xiaomi are clearly getting ready to launch a new smartphone this week, but there have been intense rumors as to whether this device would be the Xiaomi Mi 5S or a completely different product.

Recent leaks, though, have clearly pointed to the fact that the company are preparing the launch of the new Xiaomi Mi 5S. The phone is expected to be available in two variants with prices ranging from $ 300-$ 450. New leaked pictures show that the phone is likely to have a circular fingerprint sensor just like the iPhone, but only coming with the latest ultrasonic sensor from Qualcomm.

This new sensor has the ability to work across different surfaces like sapphire, glass, or even plastic. It would enable manufacturers to go down a new route as far as fingerprint sensor is concerned.

The phone will have a 5.15-inch screen with a 1080p resolution or QHD resolution depending on the choice of the user. The screen with the 1080p resolution should be more than sufficient given that a normal user is unlikely to notice any improvement in detail on a screen size as small. The QHD resolution, moreover, while sap a higher level of power from the battery. Extending the battery life will be crucial to the phone as it could be a crucial selling point.

All versions of the Xiaomi Mi 5S will be coming with 6 GB of RAM, but the base version will have only 64 GB of on-board storage. The higher end version, which will cost $ 450, will come with a whopping 256 GB of internal storage. The leaked pictures also clearly show that the Xiaomi Mi 5S will have a dual camera setup at the rear, thus following in the footsteps of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The device has gained quite a lot of positive feedback for its implementation of the secondary camera to increase the depth of field in the portrait mode.

It remains to be seen if Xiaomi Mi 5S would follow a similar application. The 16-megapixel sensor expected on the device, though, should ensure more than enough detail in the pictures. The addition of this extended feature will make it even better. The Xiaomi Mi 5S may be one of the first devices to use the snapdragon 821 chipset, which marks a slight improvement over the current generation snapdragon 830 chip. The official specifications of the phone will come out on September 29.
