A quick look at the official Flipkart website reveals that the Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One phone can be yours for Rs 14,999. However, the retailer will be offering a cool discount of Rs 2,000 on December 7, which is this week Thursday.
This is the same date that Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, but these two have nothing to do with India, at least on this specific launch date.
Released in October, the Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One is one of the best devices from the company because it addresses one of the major issues of the company’s devices – software. Many don’t like Xiaomi just because of the heavy UI, but with this Android One device, you get the same Android experience as the rest of the Google devices, including timely software updates.
Other than the pure Android experience, the Mi A1 Android One handset also offers a premium design featuring an aluminum body that gives it an upmarket feel. It gets even better given the phone has a dual-lens 12MP camera on the back with the same setup as the flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 – a wide-angle and telephoto lens with up to 2x optical zoom. The front, on the other hand, gets a 5MP lens for selfies.

As for the rest of the specs, the Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One ships with a 5.5-inch display screen with a full HD resolution, Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card. You also get Android Nougat out of the box with a promise to Oreo and Android P, a 3.5mm audio jack, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a decent 3080mAh battery unit that is charged via a USB-C port.
