The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 was officially launched at the event which is underway in China now.
The bezel less display is what almost every smartphone manufacturer is out to achieve. Xiaomi is no different as the designers have done their best to make their new phone look as futuristic as possible.
The designers have reduced the overall size of the phablet by making it easier to use for the average user. The phone sports a handy 6-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The team has worked really hard to ensure they increase the screen to body ratio so that it looks like there are no bezels to hold the screen together. Compared to the previous model, Xiaomi boasts that they have reduced 12% off the bottom bezel as well with a curved glass on top. Apple’s rumored iPhone X which gets launched tomorrow sports an equally bezel less display and obviously this is going to be the trend for years to come.
In terms of specification, the newly launched phablet is exceptionally powered as it runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It is coupled with 6GB of RAM or even 8GB of RAM on the higher models with storage going all the way up to 128GB. The top of the line version also uses a ceramic body which is cool to touch and provides a sophisticated finish to the smartphone.

Removing the front speaker was a huge decision that Xiaomi has to make in order to make the phone look slim and they continue it this year but we hope it doesn’t lead to any audio issues. The device uses a single camera in the back while most smartphone manufacturers rely on dual camera setup. It is equipped with a 12 megapixel Sony camera while a 5 megapixel front camera is for the selfies. Mi Mix 2 has a smaller 3,400 mAh battery but given that the previous smartphone performed exceptionally well in battery life tests, it shouldn’t be a problem at all.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and will be available in two colors, black and white. The color option is only available on the top of the line model, priced at $720. The entry level phone with 64GB of storage costs $506, the 128GB version at $550 and 256GB model at $613. The Mi Mix 2 with 8GB RAM n is the priciest of the lot.
