The recently launched Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is possibly one of the finest designs in the smartphone industry and certainly the best from the Taiwanese manufacturer so far.
The phone boasts an incredible 77% screen to body ratio, and it is a whopping 10% increase over the latest Apple iPhone 7 Plus. However, they could be emulating those figures in the next few months after Xiaomi announced a concept phone with almost no borders. The company claims that the Xiaomi Mi MIX will boast a whopping 91.3% screen to body ratio.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX will undoubtedly be one of the best smartphones created in recent times and it could mimic the direction where the industry is heading over the next few years. Xiaomi Mi MIX is set to come with a 6.4-inch screen, which certainly puts it in the league of some tablets. However, the phone will be extremely compact thanks to the lack of any borders whatsoever. The screen is expected to house a resolution of 2040×1080 pixels due to its 17:9 aspect ratio. The extremely thin bezels have so far been seen only in the side edges of the smartphones.
Xiaomi Mi MIX, however, boasts of the same at the top and bottom. The only bezel of any noteworthy mention on the phone is found in the bottom and it is likely to come with the camera and speaker. Both these are positioned at the bottom since there is no space at the top of the device. Due to the lack of space for the capacitive and physical home buttons, the Xiaomi Mi MIX will become the first device from the company to offer onscreen buttons only. The presence of onscreen buttons seems to be the main reason behind Xiaomi offering a 16:9 aspect ratio. Made completely out of ceramic, the Xiaomi Mi MIX is expected to offer class leading build quality.
The interesting design of the phone is only enhanced by the specifications on offer. The Xiaomi Mi MIX will have a snapdragon 821 processor along with 4 GB of RAM in the case of the 128 GB model or 6 GB of RAM in the case of the 256 GB model. A rear camera with 16-megapixel sensor is set to be aided by a five-megapixel sensor on the front camera. A humongous 4400 mAh battery is required to handle the power requirements of the phone.
