Redmi Note 5 Flash Sale Ends in Less than 5 Seconds, Frustrated Users Vent Out on Twitter

Today’s flash sale of Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro smartphones wasn’t a grand success and left the users disappointed.

Xiaomi believes in keeping the demand high for their affordable but premium quality smartphones like but in the quest, they often frustrate users more than any other brand. The Redmi Note Flash sale which went live on Flipkart today was no different.

Similar to many other flash sales in the past, Xiaomi hosted the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro sale on Flipkart as well as their official website Mi.com. The company likes to keep sales numbers under wrap so that they can skip presenting financial results every year. While most other manufacturers like Samsung and LG provide detailed reports, Xiaomi skips it and just concluded that they have exceeded expectations every quarter.

Following the same trend, the company’s India head previously confirmed that they have received over 2 million notifications to buy Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro during the flash sale on February 22nd. He added that they are doing their best to allow “most” people to be able to buy the products but never specified an actual number which frustrated users already.

Almost a major share of buyers who went online on Flipkart and Mi store to buy the phones were terribly disappointed. The phones went out of stock in seconds and even those who managed to add it to their card couldn’t checkout as the online shopping site showed an error before payment is successfully processed. Users took to Twitter to vehemently protest and express their disregard towards Xiaomi as a brand which has been doing flash sales with insufficient quantities for many years now.

One of the user comments claimed that the sale which began at 12 PM opened with an out of stock sign and it never allowed him to purchase anything at all. Another hilarious comment which includes a screenshot of the Flipkart website shows the phone went out of stock at 11:59 even before the proposed flash sale time but Redmi India refused to comment for any of these.

While users continue to tag the official page and raise questions on why the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro got sold out so quickly, the company remains silent without any official statement. The impressive specifications and affordable pricing made these Xiaomi phones so popular but when users could never buy it, it’s easy for them to go with a different brand. The next flash sale for Redmi Note 5 commences on February 28 and it is to be seen if these out of stock issues are handled more professionally next time.
