The Youtube Kids app is such a handy tool for parents.
They no longer have to worry about violent or obscene content being played on their kid’s tablet or smartphone.
With the specific app feature, the developers ensured kid friendly content is displayed for young ones so that they can experience the amazing video content Youtube has to offer. While it was fun to use, the only catch that it worked only on smartphones and tablets so far. However,in a recent announcement the developers confirmed that they are rolling out the Youtube Kids app to specific smart televisions.
In an official blog post, the company announced that the kids version of app was launched two years ago and it has garnered over 30 million views in the 24 months of existence. The app also has over 8 million weekly active viewers making it the most sorted out choice for children. The app will now be made available on Samsung, Sony, and LG smart televisions. While there are too many models in the market to cover, the developers have picked the latest models which could support their program and introduce it so that kids can enjoy the right content on the big screen television.
The Google built product is designed from the ground up to be kid friendly and categorizes videos into different types so that it is easy for them to find what they want. Any young one can easily browse to find their favorite cartoon, watch an experiment, find educational channels or go through a list of their susbcribed channels. All these actions and more can now be done on smart televisions which usually has a remote that makes it easy to browse through millions of videos available on Youtube.
All the LG WebOS supported television models released between 2015 and 2017 will support Youtube Kids app. All Samsung Smart televisions released from 2013 till 2017 will support it as well making it a great addition for Samsung customers. They could have purchased their television years ago and still be able experience this newest feature. The app can be downloaded from their app store and it also works on bluray players. Sony TVs with the latest firmware will also support the app. For specific models, Google has requested customers to contact their seller or the television manufacturer’s website where more details will be updated.
