ZTE took the smartphone world by storm when it unveiled the flagship Axon 7 but priced it relatively cheaper when compared to the competition.
Now, after following this phone with a smaller version of the 2016 flagship known as ZTE Axon 7 Mini, the OEM is at it again, but this time there is an even bigger ZTE Axon 7 MAX that has just landed. According to reports coming from China, the Axon 7 MAX is a monstrous 6-inch phablet that launched yesterday, but shipping will not start until November 2, which is this coming week.
Just like it had been covered in the leaks, the ZTE Axon 7 MAX comes with a dual-lens camera on the back. The huge screen carries a Full HD resolution of 1080p and apparently, it supports 3D viewing even when using naked eyes. Under the hood, the Axon 7 MAX has a Snapdragon 625 SoC that is clocked at a speed of 2.0GHz, The octa-core chipset is paired with an Adreno 506 GPU and a RAM of 4GB. There is 64GB of expandable inbuilt storage of 64GB. The microSD card slot can accommodate up to 256GB.
Leaks had suggested that ZTE will ship the Axon 7 MAX with Android 7.0 Nougat on board, however, this is not the case as the phablet is powered by Android Marshmallow out of the box. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back alongside a 13MP dual-lens camera. The camera supports laser autofocus and has a dual-tone LED flash as well. The front part has an 8MP selfie camera.
The ZTE Axon 7 MAX has a huge 4100mAh battery that suits its massive size and it also supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which should come in handy when there is limited time to charge the huge battery. ZTE has priced the phablet at 2,999 Yuan or $442, however, given the phone supports 3D viewing, the company is offering free 3D content worth 360 Yuan or roughly $53 with every purchase of the handset.
Like the Snapdragon 820 used in the flagship Axon 7, the Snapdragon 625 is a reportedly a product of the 14nm technology. As a result, the latter chipset should be in a position to deliver more power efficiency and enhanced performance. The Axon 7 also comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display screen alongside a 20MP snapper on the back.
