ZTE has been busy with the Blade V8 series. The company unveiled the ZTE Blade V8 and V8 Pro back in January at the CES 2017 and according to the latest reports, there’s another Blade V8 phone coming up sooner than later.
Now, just weeks after the ZTE Blade V8 Pro went to sale, the company is seemingly planning to unveil a new ZTE Blade V8 SE in the U.S. The phone has just made a stop at the FCC, all but confirming its imminent launch in the country, however, the details of the specs under the hood are still unknown.
Mark you that ZTE unveiled the Blade V8 and V8 Pro in January, but it is only the latter that is available for purchase. But now that the FCC has just listed another ZTE Blade V8 SE device, it remains to be seen whether the standard V8 will be available in the U.S. market.
ZTE has not released an SE version before, but last year, the Blade V7 was accompanied by a Blade V7 Lite. We’ve seen the SE tag with the iPhone SE, which came in as the compact model offering a blend of specs between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S. If anything, it is possible that the leaked model could be the ZTE Blade V8 Lite, which like the iPhone SE, could be the compact model in the Blade V8 series. Even though the specs and features are not known, some of those available on the current V8 should be retained, just like it happened with the Blade V7 and V7 Lite in 2016.
The standard ZTE Blade V8 comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, a Snapdragon 435 SoC paired with 2GB or 3GB RAM. The software on board is Android 7.0 Nougat and it gets even better as the phone ships with a dual 13MP+2MP camera on the back while the front has a 13MP shooter. Unlike its predecessor, there’s a fingerprint scanner on the front and a 2730mAh battery.
As for the ZTE Blade V8 Pro, you get a larger 5.5-inch display screen with the same 1080p resolution. There is a Snapdragon 625 SoC on board alongside a RAM of 3GB and 32GB of storage. However, the older Android Marshmallow runs the show out of the box, but it gets better when it comes to cameras thanks to the 13MP dual lenses on the back and the 8MP selfie shooter. The fingerprint scanner remains but the battery is bigger at 3140mAh with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology for fast charging.
The incoming ZTE Blade V8 SE should go for a smaller 5-inch 720p screen, probably a Snapdragon 430 SoC or even Snapdragon 425 SoC, at least 2GB RAM and Android Nougat out of the box. The images also confirm a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, but we’ll find out more details sooner than later and update you. Keep following!
