2017 Ford Ecosport To Look All-Muscular Like the Edge and Kuga

Ford EcoSport 2017

With an idea to make it look more rugged and muscular, the 2017 Ford Ecosport will be borrowing a lot of design aspects including the muscular finish from the Edge and the Kuga variants.

The automobile brand has confirmed that the new facelifted edition of the Ecosport will be available in dealership stores in 2017. There is no confirmed release date for the model but we expect it should be available in the second or third quarter of next year. Talking about the new compact SUV, Jeremy Schofield commented that while the new car will be sleek and compact in terms of design, it is expected to look as muscular as its larger siblings so as to keep up with other cars in the series.

Prototype variants of the upcoming 2017 Ford Ecosport was already spotted testing on the roads and his claims were confirmed by the heavily camouflaged model. Despite the camouflage, the aggressive, revamped front bumper was readily visible which had a new black section mounted in the center. The rear end of the car had very little modifications done. A slightly revised rear bumper was spotted in the car.

Instead of focusing on the US or European region, Ford is all set to make their big launch in the South American and Chinese market. The same was confirmed by the spare wheel mounted on the back of the car. Such additions are usually provided for people in these regions due to rugged road and hot climatic conditions. The European variant of the same car will definitely not feature such a rear wheel setup so as to give a clean appearance to the rear end.

The 2017 Ford Ecosport will also be the first model to find its way to India and introduce buyers in the region to a whole new type of SUV that might hit the right spot. According to inside sources, the new model will use multiple powertrains including a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, 1.5-liter four cylinder engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine variant. While the base models may not have it, Ford will offer buyers the choice to upgrade to a four wheel drive system later on.

Apart from the upcoming model, Ford is also planning to completely revamp its Ecosport series. The upcoming edition will be constructed on the Fiesta platform. The auto brand is expected to further expand its lineup with new cars and they will be powered by the same set of powertrains that are already used by the EcoSport series.
