Honda’s strongest lineup is formed by models like Civic and the auto brand spent enough time releasing concept cars, teaser photos along with spy shots before the production version is revealed. It is as good as we have imagined it to be! The five door hatchback will be available in the U.S. first before it finds its way to other parts of the globe. A grand reveal is set to take place at the 2016 Paris auto show.
The 2017 Honda Civic is the biggest rival to the Ford Focus and it is evident that the brand should offer the best powertrain to offer tough competition. Under the hood, the launch model will be powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that is mated to a six speed manual transmission. It can be upgraded to a CVT automatic system and the engine produces up to 127 horsepower.
Next in the line is the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine which delivers an increased 180 horsepower and provides the same transmission options.Honda has not announced how fuel efficient these engines will be. But, the Civic has always been a daily commuters’ car and the next generation edition is sure to offer the best mileage. The company will talk about these factors in length during the Paris auto show reveal.
A brand new design has been adopted for the 2017 Honda Civic. The overall body is at least 16 kilograms lighter than the outgoing model and the stiffness of the body has been increased by 52 percent. According to the engineers, this will make the Civic highly responsive to the driver and give him complete control over the vehicle irrespective of the speed.
The auto brand has taken a bold step forward by making the new car shorter, longer and wider like never before. The dimensions have changed drastically to offer a sporty specification to the model. The exteriors boast of stylish bumpers and Honda has tried really hard to ensure it sits right between an entry level model and a Type R car. These changes are not to affect the space a passenger has on the inside. Increased legroom and headroom is offered in the 2017 Honda Civic coupled with all the features that one would expect from a car in this category.
