The new 2017 Nissan Micra with a revolutionary design was teased in photos, videos and finally made its way to the show floor at the 2016 Paris auto expo.
The fifth generation Micra is designed from the bottom up to meet the requirements of the European buyers. The designers’ main objective is to fix all the wrong decisions they made in the past. With enough attention to detail, it is easy to say that the new Micra is impressive with a revolutionary design and the negative aspects of the fourth generation model are no longer found in the new car.
Since 2003, all Nissan Micra models were constructed on top of the same architecture. For the first time in many years, the 2017 edition has undergone a radical change and is built on a brand new platform. From the looks of it, it is evident that Nissan is going against the Ford Fiesta, a direct rival to the new Micra. According to Carlos Ghosn, CEO of the brand, the new model will set a benchmark for how far super minis can go and show their true capability.
A concept model for the car was already showcased during the 2015 Geneva motor show. The model which is now on display at the Paris auto show looks a lot like the 2015 edition with some minor changes. Based on the new platform, the car is now much longer, wider and should offer better interior space for all passengers on board.
The 2017 Nissan Micra boasts of headlamps that are swept back for a sporty look and the grille design is inspired by the V-motion concept. The shoulder lines are sharp and long that stretches from the bonnet right up to the wings. The car also features steeply raked windscreen combined with a floating roof making the Micra look small yet stylish in its own way. Instead of focusing purely on the design aspect, the team has also ensured the car gets the best aerodynamics possible.
The interior of the car was not revealed by the brand. However, we do know that the 2017 Nissan Micra features a spacious 7-inch touchscreen display. The infotainment system supports Apple Car Play and sound is delivered through a large six speaker Bose system. The speakers are also mounted on the driver’s headrest to offer the best audio experience. Active ride and trace control among many safety features are also part of the package.
