In brand new spy photos, the 2018 Bentley Flying Spur was spotted for the first time and it shows a couple of new changes that will soon be witnessed in the car.
The next generation model aims to be drastically different from the current generation car. In an attempt to segregate it from its predecessor, the designers at Bentley had made a lot of cosmetic to the car. The entire front end has been changed to have a more boxy appearance so that it can comfortable accommodate the wider grille design as seen in the Continental GT.
With a wider grille, it also paved way for the designers to incorporate larger and wider headlights. The new standard should be found in all upcoming Bentley cars including the upcoming Flying Spur. Being spy photos, it doesn’t reveal everything. The taillights are hidden underneath the stickers and going by the shape of it, it looks like the team is going for a similar appearance as the current model but with a full oval shape.
The 2018 Bentley Flying Spur is mounted on the MSB platform. However, the familiar platform has been slightly tweaked so that the wheelbase is extended offer more legroom and make the interiors of the four door model spacious. The platform supports 48v electrification which may not directly boost performance but will allow the engineers to incorporate new technology in the car. The model may get active anti-roll bars which will further boost the performance of the Dynamic Ride suspension system made by Bentley.

Under the hood, you will find a powerful 6.0-liter W12 engine. The revised engine is capable of producing a cool 626 horsepower combined with 900Nm of torque. The performance numbers are very impressive on paper and if it is carried out to real world performance, Bentley would definitely have a clear winner when the car gets launched in dealership stores.
The infotainment system in the car is dominated by a large 12.3-inch touchscreen which can be used to control majority of the functions. The rotating, three sided panel makes it easy for the driver and the passengers to access the infotainment without disturbing the ride. It is expected that the 2018 Bentley Flying Spur is expected to be available in the first half of 2018. An official reveal for the model will be done next year, possibly in one of the auto expos where detailed specifications and design changes will be discussed.
