2018 Honda Odyssey Minivan Specs, Powertrain and More Revealed at 2017 NAIAS Event

The 2018 Honda Odyssey Minivan was officially launched during the 2017 NAIAS event where the new model’s specifications, powertrain, features and design was revealed in grand fashion.

The concept minivan is going into production and will be available in dealerships throughout the country this spring. Designed to accommodate the entire family in a comfortable car, the minivan is equipped with so many family friendly features including a Magic Slide second row seat for maximum space, Display Audio touchscreen, backseat screens, CabinWatch and CabinTalk – both technologies designed to make communication easy between passengers.

With the CabinWatch technology, you will be able to know what’s happening in the back seat especially when a baby is seated there. The Talk feature lets you use the speakers to contact last row passengers and let them know what’s going on or trip updates. The Honda Sense supports 4G LTE, Wifi connectivity so that all passengers can enjoy multimedia internet content on the go.

The seating position will not hinder the experience,” said John Mendel, Vice President of Honda Motor Corp in the official press statement.

Entertainment factor is much higher in the 2018 Honda Odyssey Minivan which is equipped with large 8-inch high resolution display for media. There is a 7-inch full color TFT display for handling the instrument panel and the driver features. Seat comfort is enhanced with the help of stain resistant leather surface that’s an ideal material for families with young kids.

The entire design of the minivan is customizable as there are different modes to choose from. The easy access, super, wide and buddy more are some of the choices provided by the designers. The center, rear end seat rows can be adjusted according to the space any individual family needs. It sets up the cargo space needed for long journeys. Range of safety features like advanced compatibility engineering, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation braking system and many more are integrated for a safe trip.

Additional features found in the 2018 Honda Odyssey Minivan are three zone automatic climate control, electric parking brake, HD radio and wireless device charging. The car uses a 3.5-liter direct i-VTEC V6 engine delivering up to 280 horsepower.
