For a very long time, Volkswagen has been the budget friendly brand which doesn’t focus on super cars or models that create track records. However, with the new 2018 Volkswagen Touareg, it is stepping into a new territory by introducing premium features and build quality. According to the company’s representatives, it is a huge leap for them all and also a young, cool car that the new generation would love to own.
The photographs reveal the external appearance of the model has been drastically changed right from the front fascia to the large LED headlamps, air intakes and it now sports an angular body which is something you cannot find in the older Touareg models. Volkswagen commented that they didn’t make the previous model as aggressive as they wanted it to be which is why they choose to add all the changes the team envisioned in the new car.
The overall dimensions of the SUV had been changed which will obviously lead to increased headroom, legroom for the passengers. When it houses so many passengers, they need to be seated comfortably which is what the designers are aiming at. In terms of performance, the SUV will be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine capable of producing up to 270 horsepower at its maximum capacity. A choice of six cylinder and eight cylinder options will be provided giving buyers the freedom to choose what they want. The brand will also offer a V8 diesel engine variant.
The 2018 Volkswagen Touareg will have a hybrid variant, a plug-in hybrid GTE edition which can run up to 30 miles when on battery power. More details are expected to be revealed at the Frankfurt show.
