According to recent User Agent Profile (UAProf) documents, Huawei is working on two new tablets with model numbers SCM-AL09 and SCM-W09 and the document reveals some salient specs of these tablets.
The Huawei SCM-AL09 comes with a 2560 x 1600 display resolution and it will run on Android 9 while Huawei SCM-W09 comes with a 1080 x 1920 display resolution and will also ship with Android 9 Pie. The former appears to be the LTE version of this tablet while the latter is a Wi-Fi only version. There is some sort of confusion regarding the exact details of this tablet. However, it is most likely that this is a Huawei MediaPad tablet with different display size, display resolution, and network specification.
Recall that last year’s Huawei MediaPad M5 came in two versions, SHT-W09 which is an 8.4-inch Wi-Fi only device and CMR-AL09 which is a 10.8 inch LTE tablet. Putting all this information together, it is most likely that these two devices are the Wi-Fi and LTE versions of the upcoming Huawei MediaPad M6.
Earlier this month, XDA-developers editor-in-chief, Mishaal Rahman, unraveled some Huawei/Honor devices with Kirin 980 processor. Amongst these were SCM-AL09 and SCM-W09 as revealed by the UAProf documents. According to Mishaal, we might likely see a 10.7-inch tablet (1600×2560) with a 7500 mAh battery. However, his document reveals another 8.4-inch device with the same display resolution but the model number (RSN & VRD) are quite different. Due to the ambiguity in the information, Mishaal Rahman’s tweet came with a disclaimer. “All the info was mined from source. Can’t guarantee I interpreted everything correctly nor that every device will launch. Also, I don’t know exact camera configs, just the sensors.”
As of now, this is about all the information that is available on the upcoming Huawei MediaPad M6 tablet. However, with the recent information leak, it wouldn’t take long before more concrete information hits the web.
