Honor, a sub-brand of Chinese manufacturer Huawei, is getting set to unveil its latest flagship series which includes Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro.
A few hours ago, the company released an official trailer on Weibo with the phrase “CAPTURE WONDER, the beauty of fantasy, see you tomorrow.” This has sparked widespread speculation that the company will announce the release date of the Honor 20 series tomorrow. Now, a new Huawei smartphone with the name Huawei YAL-L21 has made its way into the Geekbench database. YAL stands for the codename of the phone “Yale”.
According to the Geekbench listing, this smartphone comes with a single-core score of 3241 while in the multi-core ranking, it hit 9706. These scores are consistent with Huawei’s Kirin 980 Geekbench scores thus this smartphone will come with the Kirin 980 SoC clocking 1.8 GHz. This chip is the world’s first 7 nm process CPU and it is also the first processor to use a Cortex A76 core coupled with and a Mali-G76 GPU. This listing exposes a 6GB of RAM model but there should be other models. The Android Q is not quite ready for devices as it is still in its beta phase thus the Honor 20 will come with the Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box as confirmed by the latest listing.
Honor 20 Leaked Specs
From the speculations so far, the Honor 20 sports a 6.26″ with a display resolution of 1080 x 2340. Its lights will be kept on with a 3750 mAh battery but there is currently no information on the fast charge capabilities. In the camera department, recent leaks suggest that this smartphone will use a quad rear camera setup. It will have a 48 MP (Sony IMX586) + 16 MP (super wide angle) + 2 MP + 2 MP rear camera setup.
As of now, there is no official release date for this smartphone but it is expected that the launch date will be announced tomorrow. From a leaked poster from the official Twitter handle of the company, the release date is speculated to be May 21. This smartphone also has a Pro model which is just a bit higher than the standard version.
