Asus has officially announced the Tango enabled and Daydream Ready ZenFone AR along with the ZenFone 3 Zoom with a whooping 5000mAh battery power at the CES, Consumer Electronics Show, 2017, held in Las Vegas on the 4th of January.
Tango Enabled/Daydream Ready
The new Asus ZenFone AR is enabled with Tango and offers support for Google’s Daydream. The Asus ZenFone AR will be the first smartphone in the world with a RAM of 8 GB. There will also be other versions launched, namely a 6 GB RAM variant. Asus also unveiled the ZenFone 3 Zoom at the CES event. Under the Hood
The ZenFone AR comes with a powerful Qualcomm, Snapdragon 820 chipset, which has been specifically customized for enabling Tango. However, Qualcomm has recently announced the latest Snapdragon 835 and this makes the Snapdragon 821 choice for the ZenFone AR rather dated. Asus has confirmed at the CES that it would offer a dedicated Asus Zen UI with VR 360 degrees application support for Gallery and PhotoCollage as well as ZenCircle applications.
Exciting Features of ZenFone AR
The ZenFone AR comes with vapor cooling feature for preventing overheating of the device. The camera has a 23 MP Sony IMX318 version. The front camera is an 8 MP one with 85 degrees, wide angle lens. The camera setup offers motion-tracking features along with perception of depths, area learning and so on. The fingerprint scanner on the device is embedded within its home button. The device packs in a screen to body ratio of 79%.
The OS is the latest Android Nougat 7.0 and the phone will be available to consumers in the second quarter of this year. Prices have not yet been announced. Other important specs include an inbuilt storage of 256 GB that can be expanded to 128 GB using a microSD card. It has a dual SIM, both Micro and Nano and a battery powered at 3300 mAh. The USB is a 2.0 Type C one.
ZenFone 3 Zoom
The Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is being promoted as the slimmest and lightest device with a powerful 5000 mAh battery being the highlighting feature. It is 7.9 mm in thickness and weighs 170 grams. It doubles as a device for charging other phones.
The ZenFone 3 Zoom has a 5.5 inches full HD AMOLED screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 covering it. The processor is Qualcomm, Snapdragon 625 and the RAM is 4 GB with 128 GB of storage. It also has a dual camera setup with a 12 MP rear camera and a 13 MP front camera. The ZenFone 3 Zoom will be available in markets from February of this year.
