An unknown ASUS smartphone with model number X00GD has made an appearance in China and with it comes a number of really interesting aspects.
The unannounced ASUS handset’s details came to the light via China’s TENAA or rather the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center. Apparently, the phone will feature model number X00GD and the OS to power it out of the box will be the new Android Nougat. What this means is that the said ASUS phone will actually be the first handset from the company to come preinstalled with this latest Android OS out of the box.
Other than the model number of the phone and the fact that it will be powered by Android Nougat, a few specs of the phone also leaked out. The ASUS X00GD will come with a 5.2-inch display screen with a rather unconvincing resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. However, this is easily overcome by the huge 4850mAh battery that the device comes with, promising an amazing battery life for the handset.
Under the hood, the ASUS X00GD will be powered by an 8-core processor that is still of unknown origin, but it will manage a speed of 1.5GHz. This is paired with a RAM of 2GB for the base model, with other units reportedly coming in with 3GB and 4GB RAM. The same variation will also be seen with the amount of storage on offer – with the base model carrying 16GB followed by 32GB and 64GB. If none of these storage options won’t be enough for you, there will also be support for microSD card storage.
The back of this mysterious ASUS phone will feature a 13MP snapper with a LED flash whereas the front has an 8MP sensor. All these are crammed into a casing that measures 149.5 mm x 73.7mm x 8.85 mm and weighs 169g. The official name of the phone is still unknown, but it is possible that this is a member of the ZenFone 4 series. This is just an educated guess, but all should be clear as ASUS will be attending the CES 2017 event during which a new set of ZenFone smartphones will be launched. Keep following!
