It is also tipped to come with the same camera sensors as those on the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL devices. We will also get to know more about the specifications of the BlackBerry ‘Mercury’, which is the last device to be manufactured in house by the company.
What We Know
Some of the information has already leaked out regarding the upcoming BlackBerry ‘Mercury’. For instance, it is known that the smartphone will come with a physical QWERTY type of keyboard. This will have some enhancements when compared to the one seen on BlackBerry Priv. Another tip received from @rqandt reveals that the BlackBerry ‘Mercury’ will come with camera sensors that are similar to the ones seen on the Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL.
Sensors Akin to Pixel and Pixel XL
This means that the camera on the BlackBerry ‘Mercury’ will come with a rear camera of 12.3 MP and will have the Sony IMX378 sensors. As for the front camera, it will be an 8 MP resolution, Samsung, S5K4H8/Omnivision, OV 8856. However, just because the sensors on the upcoming BlackBerry ‘Mercury’ is similar to the one on the Pixel phones, it does not mean that the BlackBerry device will offer the same level of high quality that is seen in the Pixel smartphones.

Google is able to get the optimum quality from its sensors due to the use of a special type of software along with more sensor hardware. There were also rumors earlier that the primary camera on the BlackBerry smartphone would come with a resolution of 18 MP.
