You Can Now Buy a Carrier-Branded OnePlus 3 in the UK

OnePlus 3

OnePlus 3 is the fourth smartphone that Chinese OEM OnePlus has ever made, coming in to succeed the 2015 OnePlus 2.

The company made its debut in 2014 with OnePlus One, which was later followed by OnePlus 2 in 2015 and this year saw the release of OnePlus 3. But why call it the fourth smartphone from OnePlus? Towards the end of last year, the company unveiled OnePlus X phone, a mid-ranger that also follows the same trend as its flagship counterparts.

Dubbed the flagship killer, OnePlus releases phones that pack high-end specs but prices them at very affordable rates. This year’s shares a lot with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, Sony Xperia XZ and X Performance, and even HTC 10. However, the phone has a price tag that is about half of what the rest are valued.

The unlocked OnePlus 3 is priced at £329 in the UK, however, this fee needs to be paid outright in order to get the phone. However, with the company’s recent move away from its invite-only system, it seems things are set to get even better for UK buyers as the phone is making its way to the country’s carriers. After seeing excess demand for the OnePlus 3 during its early days, the company has now moved in with a first ever partnership with a UK carrier.

O2 is the mobile carrier in the picture here and apparently, users of this network can grab themselves a new OnePlus 3 starting from September 29 for just £28 per month. There are several Refresh plans on offer. For £28 per month, you get 500 minutes of talk time, unlimited texts and 500MB. Alternatively, you can part with £35.50 per month for unlimited talk time and texts alongside 3GB data.

In the long run, you pay more than the $329 price for the OnePlus 3, but the best part is that no upfront fee is needed with the O2 plan. It gets even better as the Refresh plan also lets users upgrade devices early as long as the remaining value of the current phone is paid off in full.
