The carriers do their best to bring budget friendly and affordable smartphones with decent specifications.
Cricket Wireless company is on yet another attempt as they grow their lineup of smartphones with the latest HTC Desire 555.
While the automobile carrier had similar launches in the past, some cheap phones may not come with a reputed brand behind it. However, HTC is one of the most popular smartphone brands of the world and has been in business for decades now. They aren’t doing so great in the flagship class because of stiff competition from Apple and Samsung. But, they are still an ideal option if you want a branded phone and find Motorola designs not so appealing.
Cricket Wireless had launched the Desire 555 as part of their promotions and the pricing of the phone is definitely going to surprise a lot of people. It costs just $119.99 making it an ideal pick for college students or anyone looking for a budget secondary device that gets the job done. The specifications of the smartphone are decent as it runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

The operating system has been wrapped with HTC’s exclusive Sense UI interface. While it may not offer a pure vanilla Android experience, the skin will not alter too much and will make it easy for you to access a lot of features in the phone with a single swipe or tap. HTC themes is another unique feature that provides the best of customization with a wide range of wallpapers, sounds, icons to choose from. It may not be the most nifty of features because Android is always customizable right out of the box but it still works much better because it has been made to suit the HTC Sense UI.
In terms of specifications, the HTC Desire 555 sports a compact 5-inch display with HD resolution, possibly 720p and is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad core processor. The phone has an 8-megapixel camera in the rear with 4x digital zoom, LED flash while the front has a decent 5-megapixel camera for your selfie needs. The device has a small 2200 mAh battery but considering the processor and the display size, it should last a whole day without running out of charge.
By default, it has just 16 GB of storage which can be further expanded up to a massive 2 TB with the help of a micro SD card. You can now buy the phone at the Cricket Wireless site.
