Even as Dark Souls 3 is getting ready for its release in March 2017, developer Bandai Namco has released footage of one of its interesting characteristics – the Ringed City.
According to an online announcement, this Ringed City is the last expansion made to the game and features a whole lot of new offerings in terms of enemies, weapons and areas, among many others. This city makes its presence towards the end of the game. In a press release, Jason Enos from the American division of Bandai Namco said “Dark Souls III: The Ringed City brings players toe-to-claw against massive beasts in a twisted descent into the bowels of the end of the world.”.
The term Ringed City is believed to be linked with Atlantis, a mystical city that became unheard of in the course of time. A trailer shows some of the locations in the Ringed City, a few encounters like a nasty duel against a beast with giant size wings, purple ghost foes, a high drop from a building side and a ghost that can fire flames using a shield to set fire on a weapon. In short, players can be prepared for a new storyline, magic, new gears and monsters, three breathtaking environments not seen before, overturned buildings and fresh PVP maps. There will be nail biting encounters to keep gamers engrossed and engaged in the game right till the end. Some of the enemies are really alarming and one of the locations called The Dreg Heap appears grayish and ruined. Interestingly, this location also depicts a mesmerizing horizon with many once majestic castle towers that have collapsed.
The Ringed City will be available on all major gaming platforms comprising the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as the PC from the end of March. Interested gamers can avail this for free with the season pass priced for $25 or buy it alone for a price of $15. The season pass also gives you access to the earlier Ashes of Ariandel. Dark Souls 3 is likely to be the last game in this series according to creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. If this is true, the Ringed City is bound to be a fitting tribute to the grand finale.
An update has recently been made to Dark Souls 3. This update (version 1.10) addresses various fixes that hampered the game’s progress one way or the other in the earlier version.
