The Daydream View VR Headset is the much fancier follow-up of the Cardboard virtual reality headset from Google, which is all set to be officially released into the market on November 10th, 2016.
The tech giant had first launched the plush and the fabric-covered Daydream View headset along with its controller just last month. Google had explained at the time of unveiling the product that the light weight quality and the wearable fabric design makes the Daydream View headset superior to its competitors. Now the company has officially announced the release and availability of the product at the Google Stores and other certified retailers on November 10th in five different countries around the world.
The Daydream virtual reality headset will be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Germany from November 10th 2016. The Daydream View, that is provided with a controller allows the users to watch movies, play VR games, and watch TV shows on the Daydream ready smartphones like the new Google Pixel.
A host of games, apps, TV shows, movies, and VR content can be screened across the Daydream View. All the content has been categorized accordingly.
Personal Cinema
The Personal Cinema includes VR content pertaining to Hulu VR, YouTube VR, Google Play Movies, and Invasion, a VR animation movie.
Hulu Streaming
All thanks to the tie-up, the VR headset now allows users to watch the entire library of Hulu. The Hulu VR app is available in the US. The complete library of Hulu including movies, TV shows, and all the VR content can be screened across. In addition to this, there will be two new pieces of VR content from the Huffpo RYOT which will be exclusively available on the Daydream View headset is The Big Picture, a news program in virtual reality and a comedy show called Virtually Mike and Nora in VR, starring Mike O’Brien and Nora Kirkpatrick.
YouTube VR and Google Play Movies
The users of the Daydream VR headset can now watch the complete library of YouTube videos on a virtual screen and experience the best and immersive VR videos from all the top creators. A few thousands of the most popular movies and TV shows can now be watched from Google Play on the Daydream virtual headset which gives an almost theatre-like effect.
Invasion
Invasion is an award-winning animated VR movie directed by the Madagascar director and narrated by Ethan Hawke which is so inviting that the users become a part of the story. The story is about two bumbling aliens, Mac and Cheez who makes plans of invading Earth, but they are instead thwarted by lovely animals on the planet.
Get into the Game
Many VR games have been included namely the Danger Goat – A game to catapult a runaway goat from all the traps; Hunter’s Gate – a game where the user has to fight the demon invasion; Wonderglade – a carnival themed game including Tiny Tee Golf and Tip N Tilt Racing; Gunjack 2: End of Shift; Mekorama, where a tiny robot needs to stumble back home; Need for Speed: No Limits VR – a racing game; and Home Run Derby – a hit monster home run game.

The users can now explore everything under the sky and beyond using the Daydream View VR headset. The Star Chart VR includes everything right from the Sun to the rings of Saturn out to the smallest moons and reaches up to the darkest and farthest Pluto, everything in the solar system can be explored in a beautiful and accurately captured with real-time space simulation. The Wall Street Journal VR allows watching the breaking news in a completely new way with interactive 360-degree video and real-time market visualization. With the Street View VR, the user can visit more than 70 countries and experience almost 150 handcrafted tours of the most amazing places in the world. The other new VR additions include the Guardian VR, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them puzzles, and the New York Times, which will be premiering 3 exclusive films including The Creators: Rob Pruitt, which can all be watched in the virtual reality mode on the Daydream app.

Google had mentioned in its blog post a long list of the Daydream View headset retailers in different countries along with their best buy prices. The VR headset will be available in the US, retailed by Version with the best buy price of $79 (US Dollars), which roughly makes up to Rs. 5,300/-. The certified retailers of the Daydream VR headset in Canada are Bell, Rogers, and Telus, offering the best buy price of $99 (Canadian Dollars). The EE and the Carphone Warehouse are the official retailers of the VR headset in the United Kingdom with a price £69 (GBP). Deutsche Telekom is the certified retailer in Germany offering a price of €69 (EUR) for the VR headset. Telstra and JB Hi-Fi are the official retailers of the Daydream View Headset in Australia offering the best buy price of $119 (Australian dollars).
