With just a few days before OnePlus 5 breaks cover, the outgoing OnePlus 3T has received a massive discount that will see it exchange hands at the same price as the original OnePlus 3.
The Chinese OEM will unveil the new OnePlus 5 on June 20, which is next week Tuesday and as expected, the 2016 model has now started seeing discounts as major retailers prepare for the new beast.
One such retailer is Geekbuying, where the retailer has deals that will be running until June 18 or rather this Sunday. Here, you can now get your hands on the OnePlus 3T for as low as $399.99. This is even cheaper than the original price of the phone, which was $439. For this figure, you get the base model of the 3T, which is still a beast with its Snapdragon 821 SoC, 6GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
Since the listed OnePlus 3T is an EU version, make sure you confirm with your local carrier if it is supported before making the move. This is true since the retailer ships worldwide. You can still save a few more dollars by opting for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, which is another beast of a phone that features the same Snapdragon 821 SoC but with less 2GB RAM compared to the 3T. The storage remains unchanged and if you fancied the retired Samsung Galaxy Note 7, this Mi Note 2 is a look-alike and supports global usage.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has been listed at a price of $379.99, which is pretty decent for such a high-end phone that is just half a year old. There are also other Xiaomi phones on offer via the same platform, where you can get the budget Redmi Note 4 and Note 4X for as low as $139.99 and $176.99. Where the former gives you a 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D screen with a Snapdragon 625 SoC, 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage, the latter has just about the same specs except for the Helio X20 SoC, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage on board.
All four phones have Android Marshmallow out of the box, but the OnePlus 3T and Xiaomi Mi Note 2 can be updated to Android Nougat, although the latter is still in beta. The Redmi Note 4X has been updated to Nougat, but only for the Qualcomm variant and as for the standard Redmi Note 4, the wait is still on.
One thing to note, however, is that the deals on OnePlus 3T, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and Redmi Note 4X have been labeled “Email only price”, which means that not everyone who visits the platform will be able to enjoy the said prices. Instead, one has to be a member of the platform in order to receive the exclusive email with these deals. As for the standard Redmi Note 4, anyone can grab the deal at the said price of just $139.99.
