Developers of Fallout 4 Bethesda has made a surprise release, the Contraptions Workshop DLC for the game. It was supposed to get launched by the end of this month but the team never announced an actual release date.
The DLC is already available for download and players could enjoy it by downloading the files from the official Steam page. It comes at a price, though! Bethesda claimed that it is the fourth big update to Fallout 4 ever since the game launched. However, any hardcore gamer would say this it is minor because all the downloadable content brings is modded maps and items for the title rather than a whole new story. In terms of value, the Far Harbor expansion pack was a worthy addition.
The DLC was rolled out a day before which brings new additions to the settlements. The spots now have conveyor belt to carry items, new logic gates and some other stuff so that you have plenty of new things to meddle with. A wide range of complex gadgets are introduced into the wastelands of Fallout 4. As the name suggests, the Contraptions workshop is all about creating new items and innovative ideas. They have introduced so many machines and equipment to experiment with.
Other popular items that are part of the package include warehouse kits, fireworks, greenhouse kits and armor. Bethesda didn’t hype this one as a real downloadable content but more of a high quality mod. The actual expansion pack with new places and storyline titled the Nuka World is slated for launch in the month of August.
When there’s a game developed by Bethesda, it is known that there will be bugs. Skyrim was one of the buggiest games in the past and Fallout 4 is equally annoying at times. Players have already started complaining that some items in the DLC is buggy. It doesn’t work as intended but we can be sure the team will start working on it to fix the problem.
A small mod like this one could actually be free but Fallout 4 Contraptions Workshop is priced at $4.99. The DLC season pass is also available but it costs so high ($49.99) that most gamers usually refrain from buying it. Adding value to the game could be done without such additional costs and let’s hope it changes in the future.
Bethesda is also working on fixing mod support for Fallout 4 on PS4 console.
