The Google Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are still some of the most popular Google devices in the market right now and while Google does everything to keep them on the same level as the new Pixel and Pixel XL phones, at least software-wise, the latest March Android security patch has some issues related to Cards.
You probably use Google Cards a lot because you love them. But once you update your Google Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X to the latest Android security patch for the month of March, this feature goes MIA. Apparently, users of these two phones have taken to Google forums to air their frustrations regarding the missing Google Cards.
Usually, accessing these Google Cards is just a swipe away. When you swipe left from the home screen, the next window that opens gives you full access to Cards, but after installing this update, this window now shows an error that reads “Failed to load cards. A problem occurred while loading the cards.” Of course, the obvious step one would take to try and solve this is to refresh the page by pulling it down. Sadly, this doesn’t work at all, something that has left many people stranded and unsure of what to do.
Well, if you are suffering this problem on your Google Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X, we have a quick fix for you here. First, head to your phone’s main Settings page and scroll down to the “Apps” option. Tap on it and find the Google app from the list that pops up. Once again, tap on this app to open the Info page and when in there, hit Storage and then Clear Cache.
On the same page, you should also be able to see a “Manage Space” option just above the “Clear Cache” option. Hit this option as well and from the page that shows up, tap on “Clear All Data” right at the bottom. When done, go ahead and restart your Google Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X and you should be good to go.
This fix may or may not work for some Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X users. Lucky you if it does, but if it doesn’t, you may have to wait until Google rolls out a fix.
