As the end of the year is approaching, Google is rounding up the list of all the best new apps, games, movies, songs and other content on its Android Google Play Store for the year 2016.
Google has been announcing the list of all the best performing applications, games, TV shows, movies, and books on Google Play every year, and even this time the search giant is continuing its tradition by now announcing its list for the year of 2016. Just like before, there are global lists, and then there are also local lists. The global lists were revealed in a blog post by Google, whereas the readers can visit the Google Play Store in their own countries to see the lists of Best Apps of 2016 and Best Games of 2016. The top trending games and apps which have been downloaded the most in 2016 made it to the top lists.
5 Best Global Apps of 2016
The apps for which many teens and even the grown-ups had gone crazy for took over the rankings this year.
On the global front, the top 5 trending apps for the year 2016 were listed sequentially with the first being the Face Changer 2 app, followed by the Lumyer, a photo and selfie editing app, followed by Castbox, which is a podcast radio music app, the fourth top app being the Emoji Keyboard Pro, and the last being the MSQRD.
In the United States, the top trending apps for 2016 were Miitomo, Google Duo, MSQRD, Reddit – the Official App, and the Opera News Lab.
Best Apps of 2016 in India
There were additional award categories for apps in each country also which included the Most Innovative, Made in India, Most Beautiful, Most Share-Worthy, Most Entertaining, Top Trending, Best Self-Improvement, and the Best Family award.
In India, With Prisma app being the awarded the Best App of the Year on the list by Google Play, the most innovative app awards went to the Contacts Phone Dialer: Drupe, followed by Amp Me, a social music party app, PowerDirector, which is a video editing app, Share the Meal app, which is a United Nations app for helping children, and the last being the Recipe Book app.
The Most Share-worthy app awards went to Boomerang from Instagram, followed by Beauty Plus Me – the Perfect Camera app, followed by Gaao Bollywood and Hindi Karaoke app, followed by Google Allo,and the Dubsmash app.
The Most Beautiful app awards were awarded to Colorfy, a free coloring book, followed by PicsArt Photo Studio, SignEasy – a document signing and filling app, Backdrops, a wallpaper app, and Magisto, a video making and editing app.
The Best Made in India app awards went to Indian Rail Train PNR Status app by Ixigo.com, followed by Recipe Book, followed by HealthifyMe Weight Loss Coach App, Myntra, which is an online shopping app, and Hello English, an English learning app.
The Top Trending awards went to BeautyPlus Me, the Perfect Camera app, followed by Voot TV, an app showcasing shows, movies, and cartoons, followed by Google Duo, and Mr. Voonik, an online shopping app for men, and Tap Emoji Keyboard app.
The Best Self-Improvement app awards went to U Dictionary, an offline English dictionary app, followed by 30 Day Fit Challenge Workout app, followed by BYJU’S, the learning app, Duolingo, a free language-learning app, and TED Conferences LLC app.
The Best Family App award went to the Disney Magic Kingdoms app, followed by Toca Life: Farm app, the Nursery Rhymes and Kids Games, followed by Chhota Bheem Talking Toy app, and ABC Kids, a tracing and phonics app.
Top 5 Trending Games Of 2016
The top trending games on the global platform for the year of 2016 were listed out with the top being the Pokémon Go, followed by Clash Royale, Traffic Rider, slither.io, and Dream League Soccer. In India, wherein the Pokémon Go was never officially released, Google Play listed the Game of the Year award to the tremendously popular Clash Royale.
