There is a new (but probably familiar) phone in the market by the name of HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition. Coming in as a refreshed version of the failed HTC One M9, as the name suggests, this smartphone focuses more on improving the camera capabilities of the One M9 as well as other minor details.
Apparently, the new HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition is available in Poland, a new report can confirm. In addition, the device is reportedly being sold for on a contract of $25.68 per month.
This is a strange move from HTC, especially now that the HTC 10 is already here and it is receiving some amazing reviews. Furthermore, it is more of a surprise for many as the company tries to bring back “failed” memories to lovers of its products. The launch of HTC One M9 was actually the peak of the Taiwanese company’s doom. The company registered poor sales for the phone, something that prompted it to come in with an HTC One A9, however, this was of no significant help to the company.
The idea of coming in with a refreshed version of the One M9 in the shape of the Prime Camera Edition might prove to be fruitful for the company, but it is highly doubtful, especially when looking at the rather underwhelming specs on the table.
Of course, you will find most of the specs served on the flagship model available on the new HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition, however, there are some obvious tweaks to keep the distinction between the two. The refreshed version drops the use of last year’s Snapdragon 810 flagship chipset in favor of an 8-core MediaTek Helio X10 SoC clocked at a speed of 2.2GHz. To support this chipset is a RAM of 2GB and to makes things even worse for the Prime Camera Edition, it is powered by the now older Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The device comes with a rather insignificant onboard storage of 16GB, but this can be boosted using a microSD card of up to 2TB.
As for the camera section, you will come across a 13MP sensor on the rear that includes optical image stabilization, 4K video recording as well dual-LED flash. The front has a 4MP sensor for selfies. Both sensors are based on the company’s new UltraPixel camera technology.
The HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition comes with the latest connectivity standards that include NFC, LTE, and Glonass, among others. To keep the huge 5.5-inch 1080p screen powered, the Prime Camera Edition has a 2840mAh battery pack that the company claims can survive up to 13 hours on 3G and 22 hours on 2G.
What do you think about the refreshed HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition?
