Huawei Honor 6X is now available in three additional colors of Blue and Pink and maybe even in Rose Gold.
The Honor 6X was initially released in Gray and Silver as well as Gold colors in October last year in China. The new colors of Blue, Pink and Rose Gold are initially available only China, but it is expected to launch in other regions of the world as well, including India.
The Huawei Honor 6X is a mid range smartphone and comes with decent specifications. The build quality is good and it sports a dual camera. The device is available at a price of a reasonable $250 for its unlocked version. The measurements of the Honor 6X are 150.9 x 76.2 x 8.2 mm and the weight is 162 gms. It runs on the Android M or Marshmallow, out of the box, but now it has been upgraded to the latest Android N or Nougat version from the 1st of March.
The Huawei Honor 6X sports an IPS, LCD, full HD screen display of 5.5 inches, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080p with a pixel density of 403. It runs on the HiSilicon Kirin, 655 octa core processor designed by Huawei. The chipset comes with four cores clocking at a speed of 1.7 GHz, and four cores clocking at a speed of 2.1 GHz.
The basic model of the Honor 6X comes with a RAM of 3 GB and it has an internal memory of 32 GB, which can be expanded using a micro SD card. However, according to the company, it will also be offering other versions of internal memory, namely a 4 GB RAM with internal memory of 64 GB.
Camera and Battery
The phone comes with a unique dual camera in case of the $250 smartphone. The main camera or the rear camera has a resolution of 12 MP, and the front camera for selfies and video chatting makes use of a 2 MP resolution camera, offering professional, bokeh effects. It also has the PDAF or Phase Detection Auto focus feature and an LED flash feature. The front camera comes with a lens sporting 8 MP resolution.
As for the battery, the Honor 6X sports a decent and large battery of 3340 mAh, but the battery is not removable.
Audio and Connectivity
The Huawei Honor 6X includes the DTS audio features offering excellent sound, when you plug the headset in the earphone jack of 3.5 mm. All the usual features of connectivity are present, such as a Bluetooth version 4.1, a GPS and an FM Radio. It offers Wi-Fi connectivity as well, though not a dual band type. It comes with a micro USB port version 2.0 that can be used for charging the device and for transferring data.
There is a fingerprint sensor using which the user can unlock the device. However, it does not have an NFC chipset, so users cannot access Android Pay or other mobile payments. It also works only on the GSM LTE network, so as far as the US is concerned, users will have to stick to AT&T or T Mobile networks.
