Jaguar has just unleashed its latest offering, the XE SV Project 8, a four-door super sedan.
The Special Operations division of Jaguar has released the sedan, but it needs to be tested in the Nordschleife, before it can be deemed as the fastest sedan to lap the test track. At present, the fastest four-door sedan on the Nordschleife is the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV, though all this could change with the coming of the XE SV Project 8.
Compared with Giulia QV
When comparing the latest Jaguar XE SV Project 8 with the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV, it is seen that the Jaguar offering is powered by the 5.0 liter V8 engine, whereas the Giulia QV has the V6 engine, which is twin turbocharged and derived from Ferrari. The other iterations in the V8 engine have developed 550 in the F Type R and in the Range Rover SVR, whereas it has developed 575 in case of the F Type SVR. As for the Jaguar XE SV Project 8, the engine will probably be the most powerful, featuring 600 horses.
In addition, there will be a high production number for the Jaguar XE SV Project 8, with Jaguar planning to build around 300 units that will be sold all over the world. The managing director responsible for special operations at Jaguar, John Edwards, released a statement saying that the time was just right for the SVO to offer the best performance for road cars in the history of the company.
The team is very enthusiastic and is committed to the creation of a thrilling experience for the driver. The F Type Project 7 amazed all the clients of Jaguar from all over the world. With the release of the new XE SV Project 8, the performance and the aerodynamics of the vehicle will be taken to a new high level. The vehicle is aimed at the most discerning of users and fans.
The new super sedan, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8, will be making its first public debut in Speed’s Goodwood Festival to be held on the 30th of June. However, there will be an open debut of the sedan two days earlier. The price of the super sedan has not yet been released, but according to Edwards, the price will reflect the excellent performance of the sedan that is available in such limited numbers.
Jaguar points out that the upcoming XE SV Project 8 will be the company’s most extreme performance sedan and might even be quicker than F Type SVR. It is surely going to be much faster than the present XE. The new super sedan comes with a 3.0 liter V6 engine and needs only 4.8 seconds to hit 60 mph and then maxes out with 155 mph.
The XE SV Project 8 will be a worthy competitor to BMW M3. It is likely that Jaguar will bring in a permanent sedan for the XE family with the SVR version, though it may not be as powerful or extreme as the Project 8.
