The trend has been going strong as smartphone manufacturer try hard to usher in dual cameras.
Motorola doesn’t want to be left behind and instead of trying to do it in their flagship Moto Z phones, they are bringing it to the mid-range segment.
The Moto G5 is the current mid-range smartphone in the market. The G5 and the G5 Plus have been going really strong in terms of sales. Given their affordable price tag, it is no wonder they have managed to impress customers in almost every country and not just in the United States. Next in the lineup is the Moto G5S Plus which got revealed in leaked photographs that confirmed that the phone indeed sports a dual camera setup in the rear.
Rumors claim OnePlus has similar plans to introduce dual camera setup in the rear in the upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone while Xiaomi has already done it with the Mi6. There are a couple of advantages to having a dual camera setup because it allows the best shots which is almost on par with real DSLR cameras. Providing such professional quality features in a smartphone used to be a coveted features that has become the norm in recent years.
The rumored Motorola Moto G5S Plus features a dual camera which is very similar to the monochrome sensors paired with RGB lens. It is also being said that the company may choose to go with a telephoto lens. These details seem to be still in its early stage and can be confirmed only when the official specifications are out.
Based on the information available so far, the phone will sport a decent 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It will be available in three color choices including gold, silver and grey variants which are the same as the Moto G5 available in stores now. The phone will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor but with the addition of the dual cameras, the pricing of the device is expected to go up.
Motorola will do their best to make sure the upcoming smartphone remains in the mid-range segment with a pricing lower than $400 which should give them the competitive edge against many of the other smartphone manufacturers. However, at the same price tag the company already has the Moto Z Play which should make the brand price it at $350 so as to not canibalise their own devices.
