The LG G6 was one of the major highlights at the Mobile World Congress 2017 event that ended a few days ago in Barcelona, but the phone was not available for purchase immediately.
Back then, the South Korean tech giant revealed that the phone will be available for purchase in the country as from March 10th. Well, this day is here and in fact, the phone is already available for purchase as at the time of this writing (differences in time). Joining up later will be the LG Watch Sport and Style, which were unveiled a couple of weeks before the LG G6 came to life, but their availability begins tomorrow.
The LG G6 is being offered via a number of local carriers as well as retailers, coming in as the first flagship phone to be unveiled in the market this year. So far, the HTC U Ultra is not available in the market as it has just started shipping this week. Looking at the performance of the phone as far as pre-sales are concerned, it is safe to argue that the G6 is set to have a better market response when compared to the G5. The phone recorded an average of 10,000 units per day during its first four days of going live for pre-sales.
You can have the LG G6 in three color variants of mystic white, ice platinum, and astro black. As you may know by now, the G6 has a huge 5.7-inch QHD+ display screen with a rear 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by a Snapdragon 821 SoC. This processor is supported by an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB RAM while there’re two storage options of 32GB and 64GB, both with microSD card slots. Like last year, the G6 has a dual-lens camera on the back with 13MP lenses while the front has a 5MP shooter for selfies.
Other specs of the LG G6 include a 3300mAh non-removable battery with fast charging technology, USB-C port, Google Assistant, IP68 and MIL-STD-810G certifications, fingerprint scanner and the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
As noted earlier, the LG Watch Sport and Style will be in the country as from tomorrow, March 11, a full month after they were launched in the U.S. Where the LG Watch Sport LTE variant will be priced at 451,000 Won ($390), the Watch Style, which has no LTE connectivity, has two options of 319,000 Won ($276) and 339,000 Won ($345). The only difference between these two non-LTE variants is the color, where the former has a titanium finish while the latter comes with a rose gold finish. As for the Sport, you only get one finish – titanium.
