Motorola Moto G7 Play with model numbers XT1952-1 and XT1952-2 has obtained FCC certification in the US.
We don’t often get images leaked via FCC listing before the official release of the device. However, with this phone, we have access to Internal and External images along with user manual which clearly bears the name “Moto G7 Play”.
Moto G7 Play Design
First, the confirmed design of the phone reveals that it has a notch on the screen, which holds in place the front camera as well as the speaker. The dimensions of the phone measures 146 mm in height, 71 mm in width and 156 mm along the diagonal which translates to 6.14 inch screen size.
Moto G7 Play Specs and Features
The phone comes with two model variants XT1952-1 and XT1952-2 for two regions. XT1952-1 is for Brazil and Latin America whereas XT1952-2 is expected to be for the other regions. There are both single SIM and dual SIM variants available.
The battery capacity is 3000 mAh (ideally, 2820 mAh) and it’s a Lithium-ion type, which is on the lower side when compared to the Moto G6 Play’s battery. The phone comes with a fast charger (as mentioned in the product manual) but all that we could find from the FCC docs was only a 5W charger. A fingerprint scanner along with dual rear cameras placed at the back.
The processor is likely to be Snapdragon 632 chipset and Adreno 506 GPU.
Moto G7 and G7 Plus
Recently we came across Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus renders and FCC listings revealing quite a few details about the specs of the phones and how they would look like. The only device missing in ‘G’ series was the ‘Play’ phone and as expected, Motorola has decided to refresh the G7 Play with a new device this year.
The model numbers of G7 and G7 Plus are believed to be XT1962 and XT1965. In addition to this we also know XT1955 which could be part of Moto ‘E’ series.
With all these FCC listings appearing one after the other in the last few days, we can expect the official announcement of these devices very soon, probably before the end of 2018.
