A new vivo smartphone dubbed vivo 1907 has appeared on GeekBench with a MediaTek processor (MT6768) which appears to be new or unreleased.
Looking at the listing of this smartphone, it comes with Google’s Android 9 Pie coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It comes with a single-core score of 1042 and a multi-core score of 3923. From the scores, this smartphone is most likely an entry-level smartphone. The exact processor on this smartphone was not listed but we have information like “K68v1_64” and “ARMv8”. This processor comes with 8 cores and it has a 1.70 GHz baseband frequency.
Earlier this year, a MediaTek processor with model name “alps K68v1_64” appeared on GeekBench and the processor name from that listing was seen to be “ARM MT6768/C(ENG)”. This highly suggests that the chip on this smartphone is the MT6768. However, it is even more confusing because the “alps K68v1_64” listing on GeekBench come with higher scores that this smartphone.
Low end Helio P90 or Unreleased P80?
In trying to speculate the processor of this phone, we took a look at Helio P60, Helio P70, and Helio P90. The Helio P90 comes with a much higher score than the chip here so it is ruled out. Looking at this score, MT6768 is not a minor update of Helio P70, but the possibility of a low clock model of Helio P90 is high. The MT6768 is an octa-core chip with ARM Cortex-A75 of 2 cores and Cortex-A55 of 6 cores.
Since Helio P90 is 2.2 GHz + 2.0 GHz, both single core performance and multi-core performance of this Vivo 1907 listing are lower than Helio P90. This chip is certainly not Helio P60, Helio P70 or Helio P90. Thus, there is a wide speculation that MT6768 could be an unreleased Helio P80. Whatever the case may be, we know that a new vivo entry-level smartphone is in the pipeline and it will meet us soon. Since this smartphone has appeared on GeekBench, more information will hit the web soon and we will keep you abreast as more details of this device are made available.
