The Nissan GT-R Nismo is coming to Australia putting an end to rumors and it will be available in stores by the month of February next year.
The information was confirmed by Nissan’s local division. The 2017 GT-R Nismo is a beast on the road priced at $299,000 but it doesn’t include taxes and other additional charges. It will bring up the costs to a much higher level. The base model is already priced $72,000 higher than the Gt-R track edition. The MY 17 GT-R Premium is $110,000 lower making the new Nismo an expensive yet a powerful performer from the house of Nissan.
Australian buyers were looking forward to own a Nismo for a very long time. The automobile manufacturer continued to delay launch dates but they have finally brought the hottest version of the car to the stores. Nissan has been discussing the possibility of bringing one for almost two years and that’s a long time to wait.
“We are really excited to bring the Nismo model to our Australian sector. The heritage and motorsport success of the sub-brand is familiar to buyers in the region. They have already been waiting for it and Australians can now buy the Nismo products. The first of many will be the GT-R edition which is worthy enough to be the first car in dealership stores,” said Richard Emery, CEO of Nissan, Australia.
Under the hood, the car is powered by a 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 engine that can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 2.7 seconds. The particular model is more than capable of setting some new records in the track. The GT-R Nismo uses an all-wheel drive system and the powertrain is mated to the six speed dual clutch system. It also uses magnesium paddle shifters.
Overall performance of the car has undergone some major upgrades made possible by new springs, stabilizers and improved shock absorbers. It is expected to improve the car’s control in tight corners with a stiffer body. As with most modern day vehicles, the Nissan GT-R Nismo 2017 edition uses a lot of carbon fiber material which reduces overall weight of the car and boosts it acceleration capacity further.
All the basic features can be found on the dashboard and the infotainment system is controlled with a large 8-inch touchscreen display and a brand new steering wheel. If you can go for this price tag, the 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo is an amazing super car to own.
