Nokia 2 breaks cover: A 5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 and 4100mAh battery among the major highlights

Nokia 2

It’s very hard to come across a smartphone that packs high-end specs alongside a monstrous battery unit. However, it’s common to meet a low-end smartphone equipped with a huge battery – and this is exactly what the Nokia 2, the latest Android smartphone from HMD Global, is.

As you may have already guessed based on the rest of the Nokia Android fraternity, the Nokia 2 comes in to fill the slot just below the Nokia 3, the phone that many considered as the budget offering from HMD Global. Launched in India, the new handset has a series of interesting features, but none of them makes it a special device.

The Nokia 2 is powered by Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, but HMD Global has promised that it will receive an update to Oreo alongside the likes of Nokia 8, Nokia 7, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. The phone will also receive regular monthly security updates, something that is not common with budget phones.

Given its status, the Nokia 2 has a crafted aluminum body that features a sculpted polycarbonate rear panel and a 5-inch LCD display screen with an HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 on top. However, it’s the phone’s promise of 2 days of battery life that has caught our attention. In addition, the phone gets IP52 dust and water resistance, but this doesn’t make the phone waterproof.
