OnePlus 3 and 3T already started receiving Android 7.0 Nougat, but it appears that the Chinese OEM is already rolling out a new software update to the handsets.
The Chinese company promised that it will be rolling out the new Android 7.0 Nougat to both the OnePlus 3 and 3T before the end of 2016. Well, it happened as planned, but not for everyone using the phone across the globe. Strangely, the stable release rolled out the same day the first beta of the OnePlus 3T started rolling out, but the OEM still said that the 3T will also be receiving the stable version alongside its predecessor.
The update to Android 7.0 Nougat also comes with an update to OxygenOS, bringing it to version 4.0.0 for both OnePlus 3 and 3T. The new update that is currently rolling out comes with OxygenOS 4.0.1, however, there is still no Android 7.1.1 Nougat update just yet. As of now, there are no official details about the changelog of this update, but looking at its size, it shouldn’t carry huge changes. Instead, it could be a simple fix to a bug or two that was affecting the device’s normal performance.
Early adopters of Android 7.0 Nougat on OnePlus 3 had their own nightmares with the update. Whether this small update will take care of their issues is still unknown, but hopefully it addresses any issues so far.
OnePlus 3 and 3T users are expecting to receive the newer Android 7.1.1 Nougat in the near future. While OxygenOS 4.0.1 doesn’t come with this update, it shouldn’t be long before the OEM makes the update available to the two devices. Those using OnePlus 2 should also expect at least Android 7.0 Nougat to come their way, possibly before the end of this Q1 2017.
