OnePlus 5 is out of stock! Perhaps OnePlus 5T is around the corner?

OnePlus 5

OnePlus shocked many when it unveiled the OnePlus 3T, just a few months after releasing the OnePlus 3, a phone that is many people’s daily driver.

As a result, there have been lots of speculations that the Chinese startup is working on a new OnePlus 5T, just four months after the release of the OnePlus 5, another phone that is taking the smartphone world by storm.

Through his Twitter account, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei conceded that the OnePlus 5 has received an unprecedented demand – more than anything they expected. Now, according to a new report by Android Authority, it appears that the phone is out of stock in almost all markets except India. The discovery by the publication and Pei’s tweet are very much related, however, what this actually means for the company’s growing smartphone ecosystem is still anyone’s guess.

As pointed out, there is talk of the OnePlus 5T, a phone that rumors say will be unveiled somewhere next month. Apparently, the fact that the OnePlus 5 is out of stock could also mean the company is getting ready to unveil its immediate successor, the 5T. This is just pure speculation, just like the whole story about the 5T, however, it did happen in the same manner when the OnePlus 5 was unveiled with respect to the OnePlus 3T.

When the new jewel was released, the late 2016 model was suddenly out of stock in all markets except for India, where it’s still listed as at the time of this writing. With this in mind, perhaps the fact that the OnePlus 5 is now out of stock could be the first major indicator that OnePlus 5T is coming soon.

As per the rumors, the 5T will come with the same hardware specs and features as its predecessor, but the design will change to accommodate a bigger 6-inch display screen with a full HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio, much like what you see on the LG G6, LG V30 and the soon to be released Google Pixel 2 XL, among others.

At this point in time, we don’t know if the OnePlus 5 will be back in stock or whether this latest development has anything to do with the rumored OnePlus 5T. But we’ll follow up the matter and keep you updated. Stay tuned!
